LOADING ARMS

Our expertise has no borders.

Holland Loading Solutions has been offering our clients a wide array of industrial loading equipment based around their bespoke requirements for more than 35 years. From trucks and tankers to railway cars and even marine configurations, our main goal is to tackle challenging logistical solutions without sacrificing safety or practicality. Let us therefore quickly examine some unique options as well as the benefits that each can provide.

Truck Loading Arms

It can be argued that these are some of our most popular products due to the sheer versatility that customers can enjoy. Our truck loading arms have been engineered with safety in mind; leaving nothing to chance when used in demanding operational environments.

We have also chosen to work in tandem with FMC and Gasso loading arms, as these manufacturers have been providing quality solutions for decades. These brands are therefore synonymous with reliability and versatility; both important traits when nothing but the best will suffice.

Having said this, there are still several factors that must be taken into account when choosing the most appropriate loading arm. Common metrics include (but may not always be limited to):

  • The intended use
  • How often the arm will need to be manipulated
  • Height and/or length
  • Relevant industry regulations
  • Whether a top or bottom loading configuration is required

This final point is particularly relevant, so let us take a closer look at what Holland Loading Solutions has to offer.

Top Versus Bottom Loading Arms

What are the primary differences between top loading arms and bottom loading arms? As the name likely suggests, top loading arms are designed to be used from above. These systems are often known for their versatility in terms of the sheer number of applications that can be addressed. Furthermore, these tanker loading arms are capable of tackling high flow rates due to their gravity-assisted nature. These arms can be used to fill trucks, tankers, railway cars, and many other systems. Note that top loading arms can also be designed around specific dimensions in accordance with the needs of the customer.

Bottom loading arms are unique in the fact that they can be controlled and operated from ground level. Hence, they offer additional safety benefits within busy operational environments. This is why bottom loading arms are extremely popular options. The presence of flexible composite delivery hoses also provides a greater degree of mobility; often advantageous when dealing with fluids. This also enables multiple hoses to be used simultaneously when filling different compartments (saving a significant amount of time). As always, the team at Holland Loading Solutions can provide hoses for numerous types of substances.

Special Configurations

Although top and bottom loading arms are extremely common, there can also be instances when specialised solutions are warranted. For instance, customers can choose from an array of options in the event that loading arms for oil and gas are required. Perhaps the most pertinent concern here is safety when dealing with potentially flammable or combustible substances. What applications can be addressed?

One example involves the delivery of liquified petroleum gas (LPG). It is a foregone conclusion that LPG loading arms must be able to account for specific concerns such as the potential presence of vapours during the transfer process. Depending on the design, these arms can accommodate both top and bottom loading systems. The flexibility of LPG arms is also important, as they should be able to work with couplings as well as flange connectors. Other features such as precise balancing and swivelling serve to define our line of these fuel-safe loading arms.

Holland Loading Solutions is also pleased to offer a host of solutions for the maritime sector. Our line of marine loading arms provides several unique advantages. Of course, these configurations must be engineered to address a host of external variables such as wind, draft and changing tides. Marine loading arms are therefore comprised of a rigid framework (for stability) alongside swivel joints (for increased flexibility). The ergonomic design of these arms offers operational efficiency while still adhering to all relevant industry regulations.

Solutions Tailored to the Needs of the Customer

Due to the sheer variety of options, Holland Loading Solutions currently works in tandem with customers across more than 90 countries. Our selection of Gasso and FMC loading arms likewise illustrates that quality and safety are never taken for granted. This is why we have enjoyed well over three decades of success within such a competitive marketplace. From liquid loading arms designed to delver potentially hazardous substances to top or bottom railcar loading arms, versatility is never a concern.
